From September to June
La Girandole is a francophone dance association specializing in French Canadian dance and culture. We are proud to provide all students in francophone, French Immersion and second language programs the experience of dance (in French!) through our engaging and enriching school workshops. In order to serve you better, we offer the following three packages :

Dance workshop
The dance workshop gives you access to one of our dance specialists, who will facilitate a one-time session with a single group of students. This format is ideal for teachers seeking a private lesson for their group or wanting a workshop tailored to a particular age group or interest.
Dance "carnaval"
The dance carnival is the preferred package of many schools since it allows several groups to work with a dance specialist at different moments throughout the day. Perfect for theme days or for celebrating International Francophonie Month, the dance carnival package gives multiple groups the chance to learn how to dance!

Artist in Residence
The Artist in residence program offers schools the opportunity to work with a dance specialist for more than two full days, with students performing in a show at the end of the week. The show can be a great opportunity for parents and families to be invited.
Récré-danse
For this first iteration of the RÉCRÉ-DANSE project, we are offering a 20-minute pilot project video in collaboration with artist and dance educator Isabelle Rousseau. This project was specifically designed for school-age students from kindergarden to grade 12. Through this program, students of all levels can engage in physical activity at school, during recess or during free time. This video includes five different high-energy choreographies, featuring Canadian francophone music. The video is facilitated in French.

Notre école d'immersion française a participé dans un carnaval de danse avec Mme Olivia et la Girandole. Nos élèves du primaire ont adoré apprendre des danses et des chansons en français. L'attitude positive de Mme Olivia ainsi que ses directives claires ont fait que cette activité a été un grand succès pour notre école. Nous espérons avoir d'autres ateliers avec la Girandole dans les années à suivre!

Marie-Joanne and Olivia were excellent with all of our students. We were very impressed by their organization, teaching skills and obvious love of dance. I appreciated the flexibility and suggestions offered by La girandole in accommodating our specific requests in the planning of our dance workshop. Planning such an event at a large k-9 school was made seamless and enjoyable for all! Students were proud of their dances and to perform them for parents at the end of the week. Thank you for bringing the joy of dance to our school!
